and only 12120 hours later
Put that way it really doesn't sound that long.... but it still is a year and a half. 505 days also sounds long. 727200 minutes, not so much and 43632000 seconds, shorter still. Regardless of how it all appears this is how long it has been since my last post on this blog according to this calculator.
I am amazed by the number of daily hits on this stale blog. It's not a huge amount. but it's consistent and so are the keywords. Other than people searching my name, it's always the same thing: Dibond dibond dibond....
Yes, new things have been in the works.... but this little public diary has had to take a backseat to daily life.
Since my last post I've made another large mural, several new paintings, and started another large mural and diorama. The murals and diorama are for the Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton, CT. Ted Essystyn of Appleloosa Artworks and his talented pool of artist friends created this amazing place... the man is a Wacky Wood magician. The co-conspirators are Randy Gilman, a man who consistently designs the unexpected and can sculpt anything; Mike DiGiorgio, an amazing bird illustrator, created a wonderful winter exhibit and David Gloman, an artist I have admired for a long time, painted the vista view you first see when entering the building.
My contribution during the last phase was a compound mural that includes a barn door that, when open covers the middle third of the painting. The trick was to create an image that worked with the door open and with the door closed, kind of like the old MAD magazine fold-outs on the back cover. The subject was 19th century farming in Connecticut.

Right now I am working on a companion piece to this one. It starts on the wall perpendicular to this on the right. It also includes a small diorama and climbs the angled ceiling to the peak of the roofline. Pics will appear when its ready....
